Terms & conditions

Last updated on 8th July 2021

These terms and conditions apply to all qualifications and training programmes run by The PR Academy MENA and PR Academy Ltd. You should read the terms carefully, and your attention is drawn to the clause headed “Our Liability”.

In these terms “you” means the individual booking the relevant training programme and “we” means The PR Academy MENA and PR Academy Limited (Company number 06173353).

Please make sure that you also read our privacy policy.

Terms: we need payment 14 days from the date of invoice unless different terms have been agreed and are stated on the invoice. You need to meet any bank charges (for example when paying from an overseas bank account). You need to pay us in pounds sterling. The exception to this is where the start of the course is within 14 days of the invoice, in which case immediate payment is required.

No tuition or course materials will be provided until full payment has been received. A Purchase Order does not confirm a course place unless you have purchased from us before.

If we don’t get enough people signing up for a course, we reserve the right to cancel the course and make a refund in full. This applies if an insufficient number of bookings have been received to make the course viable by two weeks prior to the session date.

Payment by instalments

If we offer payment by instalments, we need you to maintain your instalment plan and pay by the due dates. If you don’t, we reserve the right to withhold further tuition and the assignment results and/or delay the marking of course work until everything is up to date. We reserve the right to suspend access to online accounts. No refund of any course fees already paid by you will be made.

You are liable for the full course fees, even if you decide not to continue with the course.

If you need to cancel a course and let us know 15 days or more before the start of the course, we will refund you in full. If you don’t tell us until 14 days or less before the first day, then we can only refund 50% of the course fee. Unfortunately, we can’t give any refunds once the course has started.

The course programme must be followed as booked, tuition cannot be deferred to a later date. It is not possible once the course is underway to transfer your place to another programme. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Once you have submitted your enrolment form, if you want to change to another course a £50 plus VAT charge will apply if you are within the non-cancellation period.

Changes and cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel a course, programme or training day if we don’t have enough delegates to make it viable.

If we have to cancel a programme for any reason, then we will refund 100% of any prepaid course fee.

If we have to change the location of a course, we will try to give you as much advance notice as possible. It will always be within reasonable travel distance of the original venue and we will not be liable for any costs incurred including (for example) travel charges.

Sometimes things may happen that our beyond even our control. This is known as ‘force majeure’ and means that:

The PR Academy MENA will not be responsible for any failure to comply with any of its obligations (and therefore shall not be required to provide any compensation) if the failure is occasioned by any cause beyond The PR Academy MENA’s reasonable control. Nor shall The PR Academy MENA be responsible for any costs incurred by or on behalf of the student as a result of any such cause.

Such causes shall include but shall not be limited to war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, unusually adverse weather conditions and infectious diseases.

Transferring places

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) does not allow places on CIPR courses to be transferred to another delegate. Other awarding bodies usually have the same rule, but may have different rules and these may change from time to time.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability to the extent that such liability cannot be excluded or limited at law. In all other cases, our liability to you for any losses arising under or in connection with the booking shall be limited to the total amount paid by you.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the course material shall belong to us.

Abusive behaviour

We know that you will behave professionally, courteously and considerately at all times and we will do the same – if we don’t please tell us. Because we want it to be a good experience for everyone, were reserve the right to remove any students from the course should their behaviour be deemed inappropriate. If we have to do this – and we hope we never do – no refund of course fees or other costs will be made.

Course changes

Sometimes we will need to make changes to tutors, programme specifications, lectures, course materials, published programmes, dates and locations. We need to reserve the right to do this, but should need to only rarely.

Value-added services

There are lots of things that you get with The PR Academy MENA such as online resources and other value-added services, we can’t guarantee that they will always be available as things happen such as technical faults or withdrawal/change in services by our providers, but we always aim to put things right or provide a replacement if we can.

Communication by email

We rely heavily on email to communicate with you – important updates and information will be sent this way, often via personal message from our learning portal which is linked to the email you give us at the start. For this reason, you must take responsibility for ensuring that this is up to date so that we always have the right contact details for you. We also need you to open and act on things that we send you promptly.

If your employer is paying your tuition fees, they may want information about your progress and your results. Here at The PR Academy MENA, we will not provide this to a third party (other than to the relevant awarding body or a member of The PR Academy MENA team for valid business reasons) without your consent. This is something that you should agree with your employer when they say that they will fund the course for you.

No person other than a party to this agreement shall be entitled to enforce its terms.
This agreement shall be governed by English law and any disputes shall be dealt with by the English courts.

Both parties (the college and student) acknowledge and accept that this agreement represents the entire agreement between the party and neither party have entered into this agreement in reliance upon any other term whether expressed or implied, written or oral that is not included in this agreement.
